An inspiration to those around her, Pepper MaShay talent is ever flowing. Mostly influenced by the folk-rock scene of the seventies, MaShay (born Jean McClain) began her career as a blues-rock singer/songwriter. It was during a trip to Europe when MaShay found her calling to belt out hit after dance music hit. During the 80's and 90's, Pepper teamed up with prominent producers and artists to participate in successful records such as "Michael Bolton’s "Time, Love, Tenderness", Cher's "Love Hurts,” Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It" and Whitney Houston’s "My Love Is Your Love.” In 1991, she joined a vocal group called "Voyceboxing.” Lenny White produced their debut album X. Her highly anticipated solo career began in 1993 after meeting singer/songwriter Michael O’Hara.
Pepper MaShay’s debut came in 1995 with the release of "Something to Feel" followed by “Not Much Heaven", “Happiness,” "Into You" and "Right Back To Love". In 2000, she scored with the smash "Dive In The Pool" in which it became a chart-topping song in the dance/club Scene, and achieved the best underground 12" award at the winter music conference. A year later, "I got my pride" was released and Topped the billboard dance music chart. The last 3 releases "Signed, Sealed, And Delivered,” "Beauty Shop" and "Send Me An Angel" Have proven to be club favorites for MaShay. Her busy touring schedule has kept her on the road, and she maintains a good relationship with her fans. Pepper is in the midst of working on an Album. Her first single for musicplant recs. "Lost Yo Mind" went #1 On billboard. "This time I’m going back to the root of house music" Pepper says, "and by being a member of 'the urban dance experience" The message will be," you can bring a live band with real singers Together to create a new and refreshing sound".
Right now in '07, pepper has embarked on a new direction in Broadcasting. Her TV show "Sound Check with Pepper MaShay is a music video, live interview, live performance show headlined by some of the big names in dance music. Her schedule is filled with new and exciting projects ready to explode in '07.
